Grade 6 – No math homework.

Extra practise sheet - do as many as needed.
During math, the grade 7’s begun their study of algebra and the grade 6’s continued
The students continued reading the novel Hatchet and had a period to work on their Exhibition essays. On Friday the class read chapter 5 and today the completed chapter 6 + 7. As usual they had gym and music. Please check out Miss. Cranfield’s blog. The continued preparing for the spring concert.

Hatchet begins

For the month of May teachers will be looking for students demonstrating the attitudes of integrity and principled.  Congratulations to Aleks who was the IB learner for the month of April. She consistently balances her school and personal obligations. Well done!

 This morning the grade 6’s learned how to calculate the area of a parallelogram. In UOI they had a period to work on their letters to future students and an additional period to start their essay writing.
The students began the novel Hatchet last period. They took advantage of the warm weather to read outside.

As usual, they had gym with Miss Cranfield. Please complete math, spelling and grammar, art and UOI reflection journals.

Action!


Today the grade 6’s worked on their final measurement unit. They investigated the perimeter of polygons. The grade 7’s continued their lesson on integers, multiplying and dividing integers.

For unit of inquiry today, the class planned the Action component and revised their French with Mme. V. As usual please check out Mme. Villeneuve's blog.

Dragon's Den Jr.

An inquiry into mathematics
This morning all the class presented their games on the hit television show, Dragon’s Den Jr. Most inventors were offered funding from $50, 000 to $250, 000 for a percentage of their company. The games were skilfully built, and they have enjoyed playing them over the past couple weeks. Thank you, Miss Clarkson, for investing in our future game designers!
Well done! Math assessments for grade 7 were returned today and their project marks will be returned next week.
