The grade 6's were first to read in language. They read chapter 4 and then later had chapter 3 taken up, including the school uniform debate arguments. Grade 5's started language by adding some narrative plot points to the narrative arc on the bulletin board. They then read chapter 4 in their novel.
The students applied their knowledge of survey questions and graphs to create their own survey question, with answer choices, in math. They surveyed their classmates and then went next door to the grade 1/2 class to get their answers. Upon return, they used the spreadsheet program to input their data and create a graph, complete with titles.
Students were given a full period this afternoon to work on their 4-day healthy menu and exercise program for the unit of inquiry. They used the Internet to gather meal ideas and design their plans.
