Mr. Hunt - Grade 6

We were back in class today after our field trip yesterday. We began a new unit in math. The students used the final unit test to see what knowledge and skills they needed to have by the end. They used the test to create a list of things they need to know. The first lesson was about different types of angles. We went through, step by step, how to make right, acute and obtuse angles for both grades and the grade 6's also needed to know straight and reflex angles. Students will practice on questions tomorrow in class.
It was a work period in our unit of inquiry. Students were either working on their artifact or were busy typing their written information that accompanies the artifact. We will be doing the same thing tomorrow.
During language, we talked about the OWA task that the students will be doing again tomorrow. They completed a piece of writing at the beginning of the year and now, after some practice with the specific type of writing, they will be trying to improve on their first attempt. They were also assigned unit 5 in their language skills book and had time to work on it.
