February 1st Open-Minded and Cooperation/Creativity

Homework and reminders 

1. Complete outstanding art for UOI project.
2. Complete presentation and be ready to present on the 3rd. 
3. Practice speech if you are moving onto the gym competition. 
4. Sign up for art with Jada for Monday's after school, thank you to those parents who have already returned their forms back to school. 

First of the Month Assembly

This month the IB attribute is open-minded and attitude is cooperation/creativity. Mrs. Whitworth gave a wonderful presentation on accepting others. 

Mme. Villeneuve hosted a fantastic house games. Theta did very well as usual. Congratulations to Kappa and Zeta for an excellent effort as well.

Risk-taker and enthusiasm 
Language/ Novel Study
The grade 5 and 6's continued reading their respective novels. For the period. 

Hatchet readers are nearing the end and have a few more chapters to complete. 
The students reading A80 are half way through. 

Current assignments 

A80 
Should read up to chapter 19. 
The activities to be completed are;
-  Postcard
- the world map of their journey
- Character Captain  

Hatchet should read up to chapter 18. 
- Chapter 15: creative title and comprehension question 
- Chapter 16: Chapter summary and poster
- Chapter 17: Notes and new words 
-Chapter 18 : wilderness survival pack

Music

As usual after lunch the students had a music lesson with Mrs. Angus. Parents please check their agenda to see which pieces they have been asked to practice.

Unit of Inquiry
The students worked diligently on their projects.
