Volume and capacity lesson 8
The grade 6's explore the concept of capacity and volume using card stock, a plastic syringe and measuring cylinders. They learned that gases and volumes are measured in millilitres and litres.
They were challenged when tasked to complete conversions, questions 4, 7 and 9 will be worked on in class tomorrow.
Grade 5's completed and took up show what you know section for review.

OWA writing period 2.
Unit 17 spelling pre-test was returned to the students. Please sign and and make corrections. The tourism industry is vital to Mexico ... The students learned how to paraphrase a passage from a book. In the previous lesson they identified the importance of academic honesty and what plagiarism looks like. They learned to use their own words without changing the meaning. They applied this new/refreshed skill by reading library books and taking notes.
UOI
The first mentor meetings took place today and the remaining groups are to meet with their mentor sometime tomorrow. The class began writing the central idea for the exhibition.
For homework students should get some books from the library. Please disregard if you already have your books. Also, you should be discussing the French component and starting to think about your lines of inquiry (what will you study specifically). For example, an inquiry into the education available to boys and girls in different countries (Canada vs. India).
The final task is to continue to brainstorm ideas, you may have had new inspirations over the past few days.
Central idea writing will continue tomorrow.

As usual after lunch the students had a music lesson with Mrs. Angus. Parents please check their agenda to see which pieces they have been asked to practice.
