Music - Bring in money for music text book GRADE 5 only. 

I have also attached the September Music schedule. 

Spelling pre-tests were returned to the students today. Please sign and return to school. 

Class photos will be taken tomorrow. Please be in full uniform. Some students have not received their ties or blazers yet. If you have any extra pieces at home and are willing to share. Please send them in with your children just for the photo.

Star student 
The 1st week of school was short and everyone demonstrated excellent behaviour. Kayleigh stood out for her excellent work in math and language. Congratulations on being the star student of the week.

Music

As usual after lunch the students had a music lesson with Mrs. Angus. Parents please check their agenda to see which pieces they have been asked to practise.

UOI  - Language
Percy Jackson and the Olympians. 
The students began their first novel study of the year, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. As a group, we read the first chapter aloud. Tomorrow, reading groups will be assigned and literature circles roles will be distributed.

Word of the day mnemonic. Please use it in a sentence and give me the definition for extra house points.

Define civilization.  Provide a textbook/ dictionary definition. Please describe what a civilization in your own words as well.
