UOI - Language
Spelling unit 7 pre-test.
The students were give time in class to read chapter 17. They should complete their reading tonight.
Continuing with narrative writing and poetry, the students learned about limericks. Limericks are rhyming poems that have a specific style AABBA. In pairs students created simple limericks. We read poems in a Poo-etry circle (thanks Jack), for inspiration. Please enjoy the videos below.
Tomorrow, they will continue working in pairs for practice. The students will compose and recite their individual poems on a topic of their choice later on this week.
For homework begin brainstorming ideas for your individual poem. There is no requirements for the topic chosen.
Music
As usual after lunch the students had a music lesson with Mrs. Angus. Parents please check their agenda to see which pieces they have been asked to practise.
UOI
For unit of inquiry the students presented their research findings of their geographical terms. They learned how to draw a legend on a map. Please complete the second part of the activity, Lay of the Land. On a map (or the one provided) indicate the name of the region that occupies the different land forms found in Greece.
When completed, begin the comparison chart of Greece and Egypt, page 2 of the assignment booklet.
Have a great evening.
