Math
Today, the students learned how to calculate the area of triangles and irregular polygons.

The grade 6's examined the relationship between the area of rectangles and triangles. They proved that a rectangle can be split into two triangles. They looked at two expressions. Half the base times height or base times height divided by 2. The students were encouraged to use the formula that makes most sense to them. YEAH! Math does make sense.

We are nearing the end of the unit. The remaining topics are circumference, area of a circle and review to finish up.
