Today the grade six’s learned how to use order of operations to solve
expressions.
Definition: an expression is a mathematical statement with number and
operations
The grade five’s learned two strategies to solve subtraction problems involving
4 digit numbers.
They made the numbers friendly through compensation and they used
expanded form.
UOI – Language
Unit one spelling post test
The students read chapter 5 and got half way through 6 of Tuck Everlasting.
Gym
UOI – WHERE WE ARE IN PLACE AND TIME
The students continued their study of legends
and they will begin writing their own next week.
They wrapped up the day with a creative writing
activity and GOLDEN TIME.
As class,
they earned 5 minutes of Golden time and chose to cash in at the end of the
day.
