Cutting through the fog - Thursday April 9, 2015

Today in language we continued to read our books in our literature circles. We will be presenting to our groups tomorrow.

In math we challenged ourselves with more transformation questions. We worked in small groups to complete 3 set of rotations, translations and reflections problems. For homework the students should complete a – d of the rotation sheet. For further practise students can complete e and f as well.

During our unit of inquiry lesson we brainstormed people that would make good subjects to interview. The students thought of several good sources and I stressed the importance of safety (no interviews are to be conducted without consent of parents and teachers). Next week we plan to compose questions once a suitable subject has been finalized. The rest of the work period focused on writing paragraphs from their research and looking in depth into lines of inquiry.

Wishing for spring weather,
