We had an exciting day today, full of learning and fun. Grades 3 to 8 went on a field trip to the Husky plant in Bolton!
Before we had the afternoon off the students had a productive math work period. The students worked on their tiling patterns practice problems. This was the last lesson in the geometry unit.
We had a lunch and learn talk, with Lorraine from the Organic Perennial Nursery. She taught us how to grow a thriving organic butterfly garden. Some students took advantage of the hot lunch served in the cafeteria. Oliver had the Angus burger, I had the trout and Jasmine had the risotto. We all agreed that the lunch was delicious.
This was followed by an riveting presentation from Mr. Ruby about Husky. He told us about their history, passion for environmental sustainability, the products they produce and their customers. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of the sophisticated questions our students asked.
We took a tour of the factory and had an up close look at their bottle making machine.
We were very privileged to have such a enriching experience. Looking forward to better weather and class tomorrow.
