Grade 5's had their textbook work from math the previous day checked and corrected. They then completed p. 22 #1 and 2 in their homework book and played a bingo style game using number cubes and multiplication. Grade 6's also had their two questions from math checked and then they solved a riddle using mental math to crack the code.
Partners met during our unit of inquiry to plan their boat building. They made sketches of what their boat would look like and listed the materials they would be using. After their plans had been approved, they were able to start building. As you can see from the pictures, everyone was involved.
Remember that tomorrow is casual day. If students would like to participate, they need to bring in $2 that will be donated to a local charity. Otherwise, students should be wearing their regular uniforms.
