And we're off...
Hello grade 5/6 parents! Welcome to the class blog. Every day you'll find a summary of what happened during the day. Also, the sidebars are helpful to know what's going on in the classroom and around the school.
We started the day with our assembly in the gym and heard Ms. Farrokhzad's presentation about curiosity and being inquirers.
We went over several new aspects of the IB program and what the students can expect this year. The most important conversation we had was about making sure that the students are taking responsibility for themselves and their own school work. As a class, we decided on our essential agreements (class rules). We also discussed the IB learner profile attributes and attitudes and what they mean.
The students seem excited to get started with our first unit of inquiry, which has to do with matter. I know I'm excited to get started too.
Students should be bringing home their agendas every night and returning them to school the next day. If you aren't seeing the agenda, please let me know.
Remember that this Friday is a spirit day. Also, we will be doing a class basket again for the fall festival. I will be sending home information about the basket tomorrow. I will be collecting the donations for the basket and then I will pass them onto the parent rep so that items can be purchased. At this time, I am asking for a volunteer to be our class rep. Please email me if you are interested. I hope you had a great "first day back" too.
