The Star Student of the first week of term 3 is Molly, She worked diligently before March Break to complete all outstanding assignments.
The students shared many exciting stories of their March Break adventures.
Math
The Grade 6's revisited the concept of area and the unit of 1 cm2. They also practiced calculating area of rectangles. Next lesson, they will be calculating surface the area of rectangular prisms.
The grade 5's worked from the Math Makes Sense text book lesson 8: Relating Capacity to Volume. They conducted an experiment with centimeter cube blocks. The objective was see the volume of water that is displaced when a fixed number of cubes is added to the beaker. They learned that 1 mL was equivalent to 1cm3..
The grade 5 questions will be continued in tomorrow's class.
Today the regular spelling and language exercises resumed. Some students were promoted to spelling curriculum 7 and 8.
Language skills exercises will continue at grade level.

The brochures were well done! Thank you to all the students who submitted the assignment early or on time. Each student shared a sample from their brochure illustrating why their country is an attractive trading partner. Gear up for Exhibition to start shortly.
Dance
Dance groups hit the floor to practice their routines.
Today was core strengthening day; the students exercised their abs with leg lifts, arms at the incline push up station, agility at the suicide station, finally knock over the cones station.
The students had a brief European Handball practice session.
