The grade 6's worked on Show What you Know from the Math Makes Sense Text book.
The Grade 5's had a review lesson.
Kayleigh and Jada worked out a tricky problem solving question involving mass. Great work girls!
Language
Lesson 2 - Persuasive writing
The students learned about the key features found in persuasive writing. The analyzed examples of the persuasive writing to understand what is expected from a good piece of writing. This was followed up by an activity that looks at perspective. They wrote a paragraph describing their talents and qualities and one about a friend. They quickly realized that you can have completely different descriptions about the same topic, depending on your perspective.
Spelling test for unit 17 was administered

The students had a productive research and work period.
For homework, they need to complete the tasks assigned by their mentors and continue their book research. Internet researching skills lesson - next week.
Art
The students created Ascii art this period by hand and on computer.
Some students used the time to complete their mask painting.
