Lesson 5 - Estimating Sums and Differences
Grade 5's worked on Math Makes Sense page 128 Questions 1- 4, 6 and 8
Grade 6's worked on pages 130 ,131 questions 1 - 5 and 7
Today the grade 5's and 6's learned strategies to round numbers to estimate the sums and differences of decimal numbers. The grade 6's learned that numbers are more precise as you increase the number of digits after the decimal. 4.529 cm is more precise than 4.5 cm .
Language
Today the students continued their essay writing activity. They worked on topic such as items for a time capsule and spending time with friends over family.
Music
Student are asked to practice O Canada, Chariots of Fire, Do Re Mi, Star wars and Let's Go Band for the Dufferin Festival of the Arts next Thursday April 28th
UOI
Today the students completed step 7 of the Exhibition Journal - Writing Lines of Inquiry. The remainder of the period was a allocated to complete outstanding work.
