The students wrote numbers up yo 999 999 in standard, expanded and written form. They had to employ 6 -column place value charts and solve a few challenging word problems.

Extension activity
Find (research using the Internet) the population of a place/city you would like to visit. Write the population down in standard form, written form and expanded form.
UOI -Language
The students had a work period to complete DRA's and spelling activities.
UOI - Art
Today the grade 5 -8's made IB Learner Profile drawings and graffiti. The grade 5/6's created characters/superheros that represent and contain different IB attributes. The grade 7/8's used graffiti lettering to spell out an IB attribute.
The work is in progress and will be completed during next week's ART class.
