UOI – Exhibition/ Guest Speaker

Today was a fantastic day! The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the students learned about the Orangeville Food Bank. The Executive Director Heather Hayes graciously gave her time to lead a thrilling and engaging discussion with the grade 5 and 6 students.
The students enthusiastically asked questions and she provided insightful answers. Thank you, Heather, for taking the time to help our students prepare for this year’s Exhibition project.
The students created the Exhibition Essential Agreement today. See photo below.
An essential component of the Exhibition is reflection. The students read letters from past Exhibition’s. These letters covered the joys, pitfalls, experiences and sage advice for navigating the project. For homework write a reflection explaining what you learned from the past letters.
Leading questions
1. How do you feel after reading the letters?
2. What was the best advice you were given today? What was the biggest take away?
3. What do you predict your feelings will be at the end of Exhibition?
