Welcome Back!
Welcome to Grade 6! What a wonderful
first day. To start the day off we all shared stories from our summer vacation.
The students had an opportunity to provide input for the classroom rules. As a
group we wrote and signed the Classroom Essential Agreement. The first unit of
inquiry activity was a STEM challenge. Using only tape, 25x balloons and one
sheet of presentation board for a base, the students participated in the Balloon
Tower Challenge. The aim was to create the tallest tower out of balloons. Well
done!
The first-place team built 86-inch (2.18 m) tall
tower and received 500 house points!
The second-place team built a 67-inch
(1.7 m) tower.
The height of the third tower was 59-inch
(1.5 m).
Superb job everyone!
