The grade 6's used the language period to complete chapter 11 in "Bridge to Terabithia," both the reading and the questions. They only have 2 chapters left. The grade 5's took up the final questions of the book and then studied for their comprehension test tomorrow by playing a game. We designed an "Around the World" type game, where a pair of students would be asked a questions and the first person to answer would move on to the next student in the classroom.
In math, the grade 6's worked more on volume of a triangular prism by finishing the homework book questions and then moving on to p. 364 #1-5, 8 and 9 in the textbook. The grade 5's had their work checked and corrected for perimeter of rectangles.
We concluded our presentation of research about the origins of some religions in the unit of inquiry. The class also decided that they would like to look at the guidelines that some religions outline. It was great to see the mature, respectful questions that we were able to discuss as a class.
Remember that tomorrow is red, white and pink day for Valentine's Day.
