Draft, edit and redraft - Thursday April 16, 2015

Today in language we continued working on our interview questions.

In math we looked at the practical applications of geometry in the real world. The student’s came up with superb examples of transformations in everyday life. For example, Ella said, “the ski lift is a translation, you start at the bottom of the mountain and then you move up to a new location at the top.”

Molly said, “turning a doorknob is an example of a rotation.” They recorded their observations to complete their assessment on transformations.

The remainder of the math lesson was used to finish up their symmetry assignments and they turned out great!

We had a work period after music and most students utilized the time to practice their spelling Bee words.

During our unit of inquiry we wrote a reflection on the progress we have made so far. I gave a tutorial about citations, and we edited our body paragraphs to prepare for the third draft.
