Our first of the month assembly was this morning and there was a special event included. To kick off the assembly, Mrs. Ruby, Mr. Hunt and Mr. Sawatsky played a game of egg roulette. Each player received a package of 6 six eggs: 4 hard boiled, 2 raw. They were to select an egg from their carton and crack it on their head. The goal was to not crack both raw eggs on your head before your competitors. Mr. Hunt hung in the game for a while, but Mr. Sawatsky prevailed. Also, Miss Clapham presented the new IB Learner Profile and attribute. She talked about being a balanced person and having commitment. Congratulations to Morgan for being selected this past month's Principal's Choice winner.
When we finally started class, students met in their literature circle groups in language. This was day four and jobs should be completed to present tomorrow.
We had a gym class before lunch. Students were asked to do 4 new exercises for the fitness circuit. They completed 2 rounds and looked sweaty and tired afterwards. There was enough time following the circuit to play a game of European handball.
Grade 6's wrote their unit test this afternoon in math. The grade 5's did some follow up work with Mr. Hunt to review and clarify work. We will be starting a new geometry unit in math tomorrow.
Exhibition research for the unit of inquiry was the last period. Their initial research will help them to find areas that need more work when they move on to the next step.
