We started the day with math. The grade 6's continued their work on multiples doing questions 5, 7 and 8 of the textbook, before moving onto p. 18 #1 and 2 and p. 19 #1-4, SYT of the homework book. The grade 5's had their work from last week taken up. Following that, we quickly went over adding 3 and 4 digit numbers before they practiced on p. 36 #1-6 of their textbook.
For gym class, the students were tested on their speed, agility and endurance. They did a short sprint between the soccer posts, they went back and forth between cones and back pedaled to the original start, then they finished with 4 laps around the posts. Everyone gave a good effort and will look to improve their times the next time we test these abilities.
Our language class started with the students completing a reading survey to get an indication of their reading habits. After, we read aloud some more pages in our class novel.
The unit of inquiry centred around the question, "Does a matter's change in state result in a loss of mass?" We performed an experiment that weighed water and sugar and discovered the mixtures weight after the sugar was dissolved in the water. I think the results surprised some students.
