During our gym period, students worked on manipulating the ball to certain areas of the court while serving and volleying. They also worked in small teams to practice volleying and bumping the ball back over the net.
Grade 6's applied their divisibility rules to questions in math. They were assigned p. 6 #1 and p. 7 #1 in their homework book. They started working from their textbook, but we will continue those questions tomorrow. The grade 5's worked from their homework book on p. 6 and 7. There work was taken up and they will be moving on to new material tomorrow.
In language, literature circle groups met and completed their daily tasks.
Ancient civilizations is our new topic for the unit of inquiry. We talked about specific questions the students had about all the areas that they are interested in. As a group, we chose to start with the topic of leaders. The most prominent question being "How is a leader chosen?"
