The grade 5's were able to start on estimating quotients in math right away as they learned about them yesterday. They practiced on p. 31 #1-7 in their homework book. Grade 6's had work taken up and we analyzed their mistakes to find ways to improve them. They tried some more multiplication on p. 28 #1 and p. 29 #2 in their homework book.
In language, everyone completed their comprehension test. Those should be returned by Thursday at the latest. Some took longer than others to finish and the ones that finished early had an opportunity to complete other work.
We looked at our results from yesterday's experiments in our unit of inquiry. Each group was able to share what they observed when they mixed the powders with water. The results were very similar. We discussed why some differences might occur and came up with practical uses for this type of experiment.
