There was a change in the schedule and we started with health today. The students were tasked with researching the short and long term effects of alcohol use. The worked in partners and then regrouped to share with the rest of the class. We were able to work through the short term effects, so we will focus on the long term effects next time.
In math, the grade 5's were able to get some practice with finding the pattern rule for number patterns and figuring out the next term. They worked on p. 2 and 3 in their homework book and #1 on p. 8 in their textbook. The grade 6's had work taken up before learning the process for finding number patterns. They tried their new skills on p. 12 #1, 3 and 4 in the textbook.
During language, the students met in their novel groups and shared their information for literature circles. Everyone had an opportunity to talk and share their knowledge and thoughts about the book. They then decided how much to read next and continued with their new jobs.
