To start language, we talked about constructive criticism and how that applies to the editing of their interviews that they have been writing. The students used each other as a resource to check and make suggestions for improvement. When they were finished, they brought their work to me for a final glance and printing. Everyone should have their completed interview ready to hand in by tomorrow.
In math, the students were presented with the test that they will be writing tomorrow. They had an opportunity to look it over and find out what they should know. Following that, they worked on questions from the "Show What You Know" section at the back of their textbooks. They were instructed to focus on the questions they struggle with and to ask me if they weren't sure how to do something.
We had a mystery to solve in our unit of inquiry. As you can see from the picture below, something went missing in the classroom and the students were called on as detectives to help me solve the case. They received information about each of the suspects and will compete their testing of the evidence tomorrow to hopefully lead us to find the thief. To be continued...
