We started our day with language. We discussed as a class the criteria for a good interview, regarding both the questions and answers. This discussion resulted in determining how they will be graded. After, everyone got to work on choosing the character they wanted to interview from the novel and beginning the writing process. We will have more time next week to finish it.
For art, we went outside to collect some small pieces of nature. These items were then glued onto a pumpkin that could be used as a centrepiece for your Thanksgiving dinner this weekend. The students also added a tag that listed things they were thankful for.
In math, the grade 6's went right to work on double digit division. They were assigned p. 70/71 #1, 4-9 from the textbook. The grade 5's learned about dividing numbers in the thousands by a single digit number. They were shown long division first and then anyone who wanted to learn short division kept learning. The other students went to work on question #1 from their textbook.
I hope you have a great long weekend and a happy Thanksgiving!
