Floor hockey skills was what the students worked on in gym class. The gym was set up into four stations and small groups rotated around to practice all the necessary skills. One station was for passing, another was shooting, a third was stick handling and the last was a game of keep away to practice puck possession and defense.
Grade 5's started math by taking up their questions from yesterday. We went over the difficult areas and highlighted measurement skills that need to be practiced. They also had a lesson at the end of class on sorting triangles and quadrilaterals by angle types. The grade 6's worked from their homework books on p. 36 and 37. Their questions will be taken up tomorrow.
After lunch, we discussed descriptive writing and using adjectives to add emphasis in language. We came up with lists of adjectives to describe a setting, the students' bedrooms and finally a thunderstorm.
In the unit of inquiry, students continued working together on their brochures.
