This morning, we created a list of events or moments that could be turned into a descriptive paragraph in language. Students chose one that they were interested in a filled in a paragraph planner to organize their ideas. They made sure to follow the characteristics of descriptive paragraphs and include adjectives that activated emotions or senses. Tomorrow they will put these ideas together to create a paragraph.
To begin math, all the students answered questions about material they have completed to see if they are progressing well in the unit. Afterward, the grade 5's were able to start right away. They were assigned p. 92/93 #2-4 and 6. When they finished, they worked on question #5 with the geoboards. The grade 6's had work taken up and made corrections.
Today was the last work period for the unit of inquiry brochure. Groups were busy completing sections, putting on finishing touches and editing.
