The students had gym first thing this morning. We practiced bumping and volleying in partners to warm up. Then the students broke into groups of 5 with the goal being to get the serve back over the net. To end the class we had a game.
In language, the students began with their literature circle groups. Groups will be wrapping up literature circles this week. Halfway through the period the students switched to working on articles. Some students appeared to have a productive break by coming in with articles started.
Students are at various places in math. Most have completed the required questions and are working on the application activity. This unit will be finished by the end of this week.
The students were interested in various aspects of the daily lives of ancient civilizations, so they are filling in a comparison chart in the unit of inquiry to look at how our lives compare to those of the past. We will be continuing the chart tomorrow as well.
Congratulations to Karlynn for finishing in third place at the Lion's Club Peace Poster Contest!
