Both grades completed work from their homework books in math, continuing with the same topic as yesterday. Also, all the work was taken up and corrected from today and yesterday.
In language, everyone was able to present their children's book ideas and give summaries of their stories. We now have a clearer direction in what the students need to work on in order to be able to write a complete children's book. Next week we will be discussing how to organize and brainstorm ideas before the writing process begins. Coming up with a plot plan will help to make the stories clear and concise.
Lunch started early today due to it being the Christmas lunch. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered and prepared the food.
After lunch recess, our class was asked to be the clean up crew in the gym. The students worked well together and demonstrated great community spirit by helping out.
We finished the day with art, as students used chalk pastels to draw Christmas lights. They used their fingers to pull small amounts of chalk to create a glowing appearance and also added white highlights to make the bulbs stand out.
A couple of permission forms went home today. One is to go to St. Jude's on Tuesday and another is to go skiing after the Christmas break. Also, if you haven't sent in your January lunch forms, please do so as soon as possible. Have a great weekend!
