Both grades needed work taken up in math, so while the grade 6's did math, the grade 5's completed their second term OWA writing. The 6's corrected their work on constructing figures before being introduced to isometric drawings. These are 3-D drawings of prism on triangular dot paper. In the afternoon, the grades switched and the 5's took up their math work from the previous day while the 6's completed their OWA. The grade 5's were busy constructing triangles on the board with the help of classmates.
We had a brief practice for our Christmas concert performance before the grade 7/8's joined our class for gym. We separated everyone into two teams, mixing the grades, and we played floor hockey.
At the end of the day, the students wrote reflection sheets for the completed unit of inquiry. Those sheets, along with the work, were transferred over to their IB binders. We should be able to begin our new unit on the human body tomorrow.
This week at home, students should be practicing the lines for the Christmas concert, as well as preparing for the math test on Monday.
