Mr. Hunt - Grade 6

The task that the students were assigned today in language was to pretend like they were pitching ideas to a publisher for new children's books. They had to use the various styles and make book proposals and provide a small sample of that type of writing. We will continue this tomorrow in class.
Grade 5 students were returned their graded math tests today. We began our new math unit on data management. We looked at three different types of graphs and what purposes they serve. The grade 6's were working on finishing up loose ends from the previous unit.
In our unit of inquiry, students presented their comparisons for the multiple systems in the human body. There were a lot of interesting ideas presented and some creative explanations as to why they felt they were similar.
