After a brief warm up in gym class, the students practiced dribbling and passing before learning the beginning of a layup. They first practiced using the backboard, then they were timed to see how many they could get in a minute.
There a lot to take up in math today. The grade 5's were assigned the textbook work that went along with the bias in graphs that they learned last week. There was time at the end of class to take it up. The grade 6's had their scatter plot work taken up before getting pointers on how to write proper survey questions. They were assigned 2 questions from their textbook. Tomorrow they will answer questions from the review for their test on Wednesday.
In language, the grade 5's continued with chapter 2 in their novel "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." The grade 6's had their questions from chapter 1 checked and moved on to chapter 2.
We ended the day with the unit of inquiry. Karlynn and Cole presented their slideshow about the cardiovascular system. Then each H.B.I.A.S. had an opportunity to share their knowledge about the involuntary action they studied.
