All the groups handed in their children's book at the beginning of language. Students will now be reading a novel, answering comprehension questions and learning about narratives. Grade 6's will be reading "Bridge to Terabithia" and the grade 5's are reading "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." Both grades read the first chapter.
In math, the grade 6's worked on a review sheet before having their homework book taken up. The grade 5's had all of their survey answers taken up and received a lesson on bias in graphs and survey results. They were assigned p. 74 and 75 in their homework book.
After lunch, students finished cutting out and gluing together their cardboard faces in art. When they were done, they moved on to reproducing an ASCII picture. That type of artwork is done by using letters, numbers and symbols to create an image on the computer. Many students have a good start and are following the examples very well.
To end the day, the grade 4's invited our class to join them for a game of dodgeball. The 6's teamed up with the 4's to play against the 5's.
