The students were busy finishing their children's books during language. Illustrations were being drawn and coloured and final checks were made. Some students finished early and were able to work on timing and memorizing their speeches.
Grade 6's had their math lesson yesterday, so they continued with the work in their homework book and moved on to p. 192/193 #1-5 in the textbook. The grade 5's looked at how to create good survey questions without producing biased results. They practiced on p. 179/180 #1-4 in the textbook and p.72 #1 p.73 #1, 3 and SYT in the homework book.
The big question of the day that we examined in the unit of inquiry was why do our bodies do involuntary things like sneeze and cough? We started by making a list of things that our bodies do involuntarily. Then each student was tasked with becoming an H.B.I.A.S. (a human body involuntary action specialist). Students research why these actions happen and what happens in our bodies when they do. They will have an opportunity to share their findings tomorrow.
