Group stories continued today during language. Partners were busy using their proposals to guide their writing. The first draft of some stories has already been completed. Those groups were encourage to do an quick edit for easy errors. Some groups also made initial sketches of possible characters to include in their book.
In math, the grade 5's learned about how to use intervals to make a bar graph. They were assigned p. 167/168 #1-4. The grade 6's specifically looked at scale and how using a different scale can change the appearance of the graph. They also determined when to use a bar graph versus a line graph. They were assigned p. 180 #1-3.
While I taught the grade 7/8's gym, Mrs. Ruby supervised the students as they worked on their slideshow presentations for the unit of inquiry.
During the final period, the student had time to complete unit #9 in language skills. After, we had drama where students participated in a activity that required them to convey a common phrase using non-verbal communication.
