Today in language all groups were either working on illustrations or finishing up editing. We also took up language skills.
In math, grade 5's received a lesson on line graphs. They practiced the new type of graph on p. 174/175 in their textbook. Grade 6's learned about Rene Descarte and Cartesian planes, also known as coordinate grids. Coordinate grids are similar to playing the game Battleships. They worked on questions from their homework book on p. 74 and 75.
I decided to use some of the cardboard packaging from the new TV for art. Students cut out heads and layered them with smaller pieces of cardboard to make a face. Finished products will be completed next week.
We ended our day with the slideshow presentations in the unit of inquiry. All the groups did a great job educating their classmates on their system and how it works.
