We began our Monday morning with some basketball in gym class. Students warmed up with some running before practicing bounce passes, along with the chest pass that they learned last week. We also had time to start dribbling, focusing on bending the knees and using the fingers to manipulate the ball.
Grade 6's continued their work on coordinate grids in math on p. 188 #1, 3-7. Grade 5's had their textbook work on line graphs taken up before moving on to p. 70 #1 and p. 71 #1 and 2 in their homework book.
All groups have made it to the illustration stage of the children's novel in language. Over the next two periods the partners will draw and colour their pictures and put their books together.
In the unit of inquiry, we looked at the skeletal and reproductive systems. These were the two systems that were not covered by the students. We went through what they do, how they work, what can go wrong and how to keep them healthy.
Please remember that students are to be dropped off at Hockley tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. and picked up at 3:15 p.m.
