It was a gray and wet day at the Maples, and the students spent first recess indoors.
Math
Metric system
Multiplying by 10, 100, 1000 and 1000.
Today the grade 5's learned to multiply decimals by 10 and 100. The grade 6's extended their learning to x 1000 and x 10, 000.
Homework can be found in the Math Makes Sense text book.
Grade 5 Page 142 questions 1 - 7.
Grade 6 Page 139 questions 1 - 7.
Language
The second reading group began their novel study today. Days of Terror, by Barbara Smucker.
This book chronicles the story of a young boy caught in the tensions of revolutionary times of Russia, 1917.
The Master Puppeteer reading group completed chapter 2 and 3.
Both have comprehension questions for chapters 1 - 3 to complete for Friday.
Music
Student are asked to practice O Canada, Chariots of Fire, Do Re Mi, Star wars and Let's Go Band for the Dufferin Festival of the Arts next Thursday April 28th
