Today was a scorcher! Who said summer was over?
As a class, we created a set of classroom rules,
expectations, responsibilities and consequences. Collectively, the students agreed
and signed the Classroom Essential Agreement.
For the month of September teachers will be looking for inquirers and curious students. Parents
are encouraged to communicate with homeroom teachers when their child takes
action. This means demonstrating and applying learning from the classroom into
other areas of their lives.
In class, the students were introduced to the first
transdisciplinary theme and unit of inquiry. ‘Where we are in place and time’
and ‘A Voyage Back in Time’ respectively.
Assessments are essential to good teaching and on the very
first day the students took a diagnostic spelling test. The results will be
used to help establish effective spelling group
s.
During last period, the students played capture the flag for the first gym lesson.
Thank you to Oliver and Kristian who led the stretches.
